Position Summary:

Edgewater Federal Solutions, Inc., a privately held government contracting firm located near Urbana, Maryland, is currently seeking a Project Manager to provide support to the Department of Labor (DOL), Wage and Hour Division (WHD) in Washington, D.C.  This position is contingent upon contract award.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Anticipate problems and risks, and work to mitigate them.
  • Monitors tasks and regularly briefs client management orally and in writing, concerning problems encountered and accomplishments.
  • Evaluates staff performance and reviews work products on a daily basis.
  • Responsible for keeping time and budget commitments for the organization.
  • Create and maintain an information technology project plan that communicates tasks, milestone dates, status and resource allocation. Utilize software life-cycle methodology.
  • Coordinate delivery of development (beta) and production releases that meet quality assurance standards; will assist technical team in design and development tasks; and, assist test team in creating test plans and testing efforts.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in Information Technology or similar degree.
  • Active Project Management Professional certification.
  • At least five years of current management experience.
  • Working knowledge of user-centered design, DevOps and NoOps principles.
  • Possess a working knowledge of the Agile Framework which is based on Agile, Lean, Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) principles.
  • Ability to analyze new and complex project-related problems and create innovative solutions.
  • Oversee all aspects of the project, leading a team on large projects.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills commensurate with experience level. Should demonstrate his/her ability to work closely with the Department of Labor's program/task manager to execute the project as specified within the Task Order. 
  • Experience in planning, organizing, directing, and controlling overall activities of a project, including project management, technical work, quality-of-work, schedule, and costs.
  • Eligibility to obtain an unclassified security clearance is required.
